The Liability & Legal Aspects course is designed to help security professionals understand the legal responsibilities and potential liabilities associated with their role. Security guards operate within specific legal boundaries, and understanding these boundaries is essential to protecting oneself, the employer, and the client.

This course examines different types of liability, including personal, contractor, and employer liability, as well as criminal, civil, and administrative consequences. Participants will also review the role of the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS), including applicable codes, regulations, and professional standards.

Emphasis is placed on lawful conduct, proper decision-making, and understanding how actions taken during security duties can result in legal consequences. By the end of this course, participants will better understand how to perform their duties responsibly, ethically, and within the law.
