How can training be taken?

  • There a number of ways to stay compliant with training. Security officers SHALL take the 8-hours of initial training in person by an authorized provider.
  • The remaining courses can be taken online or in person by an Approved Licensed Trainer outside of CPSO. Once those certificates are in hand the security officer can then upload them into their profile and have them approved by CPSO. It will go into their training profile and become visible to all potential employers.
  • The security officer can also take the online courses through CPSO. If the security officer is employed by a security agency, they can have the security agency enroll them in any course the security officers needs to be fully compliant. If the security officer is not employed by a security agency the security officer could purchase those online courses for $10.00. Once the course is completed a certificate is issued and the course goes into the security guard’s profile and visible to all potential employers.
